As a woman who is actively involved in the heavy music, it is always exciting to find out about a female who can hold her own in a male dominated scene. Brandi Pillow of Tennessee hardcore outfit Stand Your Ground does just that.


 I first saw Stand Your Ground at a local venue here in Buffalo, NY and could not believe a girl was getting her mic set up on the stage. When Pillow started delivering solid screams, I knew I was a fan. Of course I was the only other female at this show but Pillow gave a new dimension to the genre- girl power.

Stand Your Ground is currently on tour until February 19 and promoting themselves as much as possible. Below is their current single “Betrayer/Deceiver.” Rock on girls! \m/
