Not exactly a brand new story, but still noteworthy.

Australia’s metalcore maniacs in the band Confession have released a statement stating that former band member Doyle Perez (Guitar/Clean Vocals) has made a personal decision to step away so he can continue to pursue his solo project D At Sea (listen here). Although some would argue that this could be a major blow to the group especially since they leave to go on tour with Parkway Drive in just a few weeks, it appears that Confession plans to continue pressing forward as they could possibly already have a replacement in place.

Confession writes, “Confession is like a football Side… Every year we have team changes…. When someone gets injured/traded or retires… Another legend is ready to join the mosh team….”

After spending only one year with Confession, Perez appears to have left the hardcore music scene entirely in attempts to stake a claim in the industry of acoustic acts where his impeccable voice might serve him more appropriately. Wasting nearly no time to show off his talent, Doyle Perez has already released a five track EP as D At Sea titled “Unconscious” which consists of acoustic renditions of songs by Parkway Drive, The Amity Affliction, and others. A taste of his new venture can be heard here.

All in all it appears that this change up has caused no bad blood between either side of this situation as Confession states, “We wish him all the best…” (read more here) and Perez responds with, “I wish the band the best of luck for the future. Thank you all for the good times!” (read more here)
