BandsToWatchOutFor

Here’s a collection of three bands you’d best be keeping an eye on.

Oblivion2

After delivering a pummeling debut “Called To Rise” last year, the Death Metal masters in OBLIVION were picked up by Unique Leader Records. With a line-up consisting the founding member of All Shall Perish Ben Orum, critically acclaimed composer Nick Vasallo, and Death Metal legend Ted O’Neill among the hyper-talented five-man front, the possibilities are dangerous. Be sure to watch for what OBLIVION does next.

Vajra

Imagine if Tool visited India and booted Maynard James Keenan in favor of a lovely lady with the with synesthesia (attachment of color and shapes to sound). You would end up with the band Vajra. Hailing from New York City, they deliver incredible music. This is more than evident from the 2012 debut “Pleroma”.  It begs the question, “What will they pull off next?”

WingsDenied

Do you even prog, bro? Coming out of Washington D.C., Wings Denied is a newer band that has already developed a very interesting, relatively original sound. They currently have a new album up their sleeves. Meticulously constructed and produced alongside Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me / Scale The Summit), I can more or less guarantee their upcoming album will be a must listen. I didn’t match these bands of purpose, but their lead guitarist works with synesthesia as well.
