Meshuggah

There’s great news emerging from camp Meshuggah.

To put it simply, the Swedish monster is planning to release their highly anticipated live DVD “The Ophidian Trek” AND re-release their notorious EP “I”. Both of these events will occur on September 30th through the beastly Nuclear Blast Records!

For those who didn’t catch Meshuggah’s touring recently, I can pretty much promise the DVD will be a spectacle. A good friend and I hit their most recent Maryland date with Between The Buried and Me and the crowd absolutely lost it when Meshuggah took the stage. Their performance was perfection in it’s heaviest form. Meshuggah fuels live energy of a different kind. We moshed for at least 9 / 10 of their entire set, entering nearly a trance like state. Needless to say, there are several memories to take back from these shows. Meshuggah released a trailer in anticipation of the live DVD, and from the looks of it, they captured that live atmosphere very well. Take a look below.

And don’t forget to look out for “I”! For those who don’t know, “I” is the bands 21-minute track made into one solid EP. The remastered version should be awesome to say the least. You can also listen to the original below!

And since we’re on this live Meshuggah trend, also take a look at the video provided of Meshuggah’s light technician hard at work. It’s impressive to say the least.
