As the cold dark of winter fades away and new life blooms, new music will come into fruition and bands will rise again. It has already been announced that Obscura are working on a new album's worth of material. This is despite the recent departure of drummer Hannes Grossmann and guitarist Christian Muenzner from the band.
Their new material is now almost at a point where the band can record. And they've already booked studio time accordingly. This will happen in April at Dreamsound Studios in München, Germany. A new Obscura album is certainly something to furiously anticipate.
Guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer stated the following of this venture:
“We are all pleased with the new material which pairs the songwriting, technicality and arrangements of our previous albums with the creative input of members Linus Klausenitzer, Tom “Fountainhead” Geldschläger and Sebastian Lanser, while keeping our trademark prog riffing across the fusion and death metal landscape that makes Obscura sound unique. This album sees Obscura move a step further.”
Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
