The new Meshuggah track is a frantic storm of snare! All around, this is just an incredible effort from the band that really needs to be heard first hand. This paired with the band’s previous single “Born of Dissonance” indicate very good things to come from the impending album. Speaking of which, “The Violent Sleep Of Reason” is set for release on October 7th through Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-orders are currently available HERE.

It was recently made known that the band recorded “The Violent Sleep Of Reason” live in the studio as a singular unit. This is the first time they’ve used this recording method in ~20 years. The results are exciting to say the very least. Have a listen:

The album was produced by the band and was engineered by Tue Madsen of Puk Studios in Kaerby, Denmark. For the cover, the band once again enlisted Keerych Luminokaya who created the artwork for Koloss and The Ophidian Trek as well as the new images for each of the 7 albums and 3 EP’s featured in the 25 Years of Musical Deviance box set.
