Decibel Magazine just announced the existence of their very own Decibel Metal & Beer Fest! Read over the official press release below for all the information that you could possibly need. Definitely sounds like a great time waiting to happen!

On Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, 2017, America’s only monthly extreme music magazine is bringing the loudest, heaviest two-day craft beer festival in the world to The Fillmore Philadelphia. The first annual Decibel Metal & Beer Fest, presented by Unibroue, is two days of brutal bands and the most metal craft beer in North America.

For nearly a decade, Decibel has fostered the brotherhood between the craft beer and metal worlds with its monthly “Brewtal Truth” column written by award-winning beer writer Adem Tepedelen. Now, the two worlds will be united in one glorious weekend of extreme sound and suds in Philadelphia.

Headliners include Grindcore brutalizers Agoraphobic Nosebleed (Saturday) and reunited stoner doom legends Sleep (Sunday) with Municipal Waste, Pig Destroyer, Immolation, Panopticon, Withered, Khemmis, Krieg, Crypt Sermon, Falls of Rauros and Cemetery Piss rounding out a devastating weekend of intoxicated metal mayhem. That lineup alone is worth shelling out for, right?

But wait, there’s more.

Though there are 3,000-plus craft breweries in the U.S., Decibel has selected only the most metal breweries from across the country to be part of the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest, including: TRVE (CO), Hammerheart (MN), Holy Mountain (WA), Burial (NC), Atlas (DC), Hoof Hearted (OH), Neshaminy Creek (PA), Burnt Hickory (GA), Hydra (SD), Tired Hands (PA), Champion (VA), Three Weavers (CA), 18th Street (IN) and Cigar City (FL). Not only will their beer be poured at the fest, many of the metal-loving brewers that own and work at these breweries will be there to enjoy the music, pour samples, and talk to festival goers about their exciting brews.

One of the most exciting and unique aspects of this event is the support Decibel has received from the craft beer pioneers at Unibroue. The Quebec-based brewery partnered with Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine to brew the recently released Belgian-style dry hopped saison A Tout Le Monde, based on the thrash legends’ iconic song of the same name. Unibroue Brewmaster Jerry Vietz will be making a special appearance at the event to pour A Tout Le Monde and discuss the featured beer with attendees and press.

Since this is a metal and beer fest, there will be two ticketing options for each day. The “Metal and Beer” ticket-limited to 500 per day-gives you access to pours from all of the breweries, as well as admittance to that day’s show. The “Just Metal” option just gives you access to the show. Those that buy the “Just Metal” tickets can still purchase beers from selected participating breweries on-tap at the venue.

You’ve been to craft beer festivals with shitty music and metal festivals with shitty beer, but finally you can get all the good stuff in one glorious, liver- and eardrum-punishing weekend. Don’t blow it. Go to decibelmagazine.com for tickets and info.
