This week marks the passing of Dave Holland, former drummer for the legendary Judas Priest. He was 69 years old. The cause of death has not been disclosed but he passed at Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti in Lugo, Spain and has since been cremated. This news initially broke through a Spanish news paper by the name of El Progreso and was reported into the music world via Blabbermouth.

Judas Priest released the following statement to Blabbermouth following this news. They addressed Dave’s previous place in the band and the actions he made following his departure from Judas Priest:

“It is with regret that we hear of the passing of Dave Holland. Despite his actions since working with the band, his time with us was amongst the most productive and successful in the band’s career and for that alone he shall be missed.”

Dave was with Judas Priest from 1979 through 1989 and had a part on the classic records “British Steel”, “Point Of Entry”, “Screaming For Vengeance”, “Defenders Of The Faith”, “Turbo”, and “Ram It Down” which are arguably some of their most successful to date. His contributions will be remembered.

R.I.P. Dave Holland
