It’s been about 12 years since the release of Tool’s “10,000 days” and fans have been anticipating new music ever since. In recent years, there has been plenty of prodding and teasing from the band with no solid output despite touring and other activity.

In recent months, however, it really does appear that the wheels may finally be turning. There’s been a storm of speculation and rumors surrounding the new Tool album. Comments from drummer Danny Carey and guitarist Adam Jones make it feel like the creation may be close at hand. This was especially driven home when vocalist Maynard James Keenan finally confirmed activity in late January and Adam Jones said the recording process would start in March after the band played a full, new set for some special guests (https://www.thecirclepit.com/2018/02/tool-mjk-confirms-hes-writing-new-songs-recording-in-march).

Well, March has arrived and it seems that the word from Adam Jones has become reality. He posted up a “Day 1” image over on Instagram which you can view below. We’ll see what happens ultimately.
