Whitechapel are back with brand new music and an all new album on the way! First thing’s first. The band just launched a heavy hitting new single called “Black Bear” to follow up the lead single “Brimstone”. Both of these can be enjoyed through the video streams provided down below.

This was done in support of the forthcoming album “The Valley” which is set to strike on March 29th through Metal Blade Records. Pre-orders for this are currently available to those who CLICK HERE.

Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder) handled the production once again. Also, the drumming on the new album is sure to be fantastic because the band recorded with no less than Navene Koperweis (Entheos, ex-Animals As Leaders, ex-Animosity). The man has a pretty great track record.

Frontman Phil Bozeman and guitarist Alex Wade had the following quotes in regards to the new music:

“Sound-wise, it’s all over the place. There’s aggression, and then you’re hit with ominous and emotional guitar riffs. It’s mean, but then transfers to soft and inviting. It’s a whirlwind of emotions throughout.”

“It’s all about me as a child, and some of it is me looking back on that time from the perspective of now. Also, it’s my interpretation of my mom’s struggles and her different personalities. She had a journal that contained very disturbing and sometimes evil writings, and some of her quotes and a lot of that journal is in the lyrics.”

“Lyrically, emotionally, melody wise, there are not many ‘happy’ sounding parts on this record. Our last album, Mark of the Blade did not sound exactly ‘happy’ either, but the majority of those songs did not have much emotion or vibe behind them, they were just straightforward metal songs. These songs have a darker, more melancholic presentation to them.”
